Australian natural gas isn’t just essential for the economy, it impacts your daily life. It powers homes, keeps businesses running, and supports industries that provide jobs for hundreds of thousands
of people. From energy that powers schools and hospitals, to local manufacturing, to affordable heating and cooking at home, Australian natural gas helps keep Australia running.
However, despite abundant untapped gas reserves, Australia is facing forecast gas shortfalls on the east coast from 2028 and in Western Australia from 2030.
Without new gas projects, Australian households and businesses face higher energy prices, uncertain energy supply, and increased risk of blackouts that will hit every part of the economy.
Addressing these risks should be a national priority.
